The International Foundation for Art Research (IFAR) proudly announces that its quarterly periodical and signature publication, the IFAR Journal, has won First Prize in the 2014 American Alliance of Museums' Publication Contest. This is the seventh time that IFAR Journal has won an award in this prestigious national contest and the fifth time that it has won First Prize.

Kudos to Journal designer, Alice Fisk MacKenzie; Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Sharon Flescher; and Editor, Kathleen Ferguson. A big thank-you also to all the contributing writers and funders, past and present, who have helped make the Journal the award-winning publication that it is and without whom the publication would not be possible. A special acknowledgement goes to our current IFAR Journal funders:  the National Endowment for the Arts, The David Berg Foundation, Inc., the Dedalus Foundation, The Liman Foundation, and the International Music and Art Foundation. Their belief in us and the importance of this publication is deeply appreciated.

The IFAR Journal was launched in 1998 and replaced IFAR's previous periodical, IFARreports, published since 1984. The Journal is an integral part of IFAR's expanded educational mission. Lively yet substantive, written by specialists for laymen as well as art and legal professionals, the Journal is a compendium of feature articles, reviews, edited proceedings of IFAR programs, and news stories in IFAR's primary fields of interest -- from authenticity/ forgery and fraud to provenance, art theft and looting, and other scholarly, legal and ethical issues concerning art objects. Each Journal issue also features the Stolen Art Alert, which IFAR has been publishing since 1977. 

The IFAR Journal is available by subscription and has subscribers in 19 countries. Individual copies and back orders are available via IFAR's website. The Journal is frequently cited, and articles are reprinted and incorporated into the curricula of numerous universities.
