Warhol Authentication Board Disbands - What Collectors Need to Know about Artists' Foundations and Authenticating: An IFAR Panel at the L.A. Art Show

In light of the recent decision by the Andy Warhol Foundation to disband its Authentication Board after defending itself against expensive lawsuits, five distinguished speakers from the world of art and law, including the directors of two California artists’ foundations, discuss the issues relating to the authenticating of artworks by artists' foundations and their impact on collectors and others

On December 7, 2011, IFAR hosted an IFAR Evening in New York on a similar topic, with distinguished speakers from the East Coast: Robert Storr, Jack Flam, Jack Cowart, Christine Vincent, Peter Stern, and David Nash. The program sold out almost immediately and was later mentioned in ArtNet Magazine (December 8, 2011); The Art Newspaper (January issue) and ARTnews (February). Given the popularity, timeliness and importance of this topic, IFAR organized this program at the L.A. Fine Art Show with West Coast specialists and a discussion geared to the diverse visitors attending a major art show.
